Title: Buyer Location: Salisbury, NC Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 Apply: Send Resume in Word format to AngieC@roxboro.net Website: www.MRIofPersonCounty.com Job Description: We have an excellent opportunity for a Buyer for one of our top manufacturing clients in the Salisbury, NC area in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for procuring production material, tooling and other resources at the lowest cost consistent with accepted standard for quality, service and company policy and procedures. Education: Bachelor Degree in Purchasing, Materials Management, Business Administration or a related field of study. An Associate Degree along with diversified procurement and negotiation experience will be acceptable. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Responsible for the procurement of direct material, MRO supplies and/or equipment as assigned.
· Obtain quotes, negotiate with suppliers, source items with suppliers, follow and expedite delivery
· Creates, maintains updated product and supplier information in Trans4M system. Ability to work with ERP system effectively.
· Develop and investigate new sources of supply, make recommendations as to their approval.
· Assists departments in defining purchasing needs and resolving associated problems.
· Maintain effective liaison with all departments to present alternatives offered by suppliers, modification of design, standardization of parts or material, or other matters of mutual concern.
· Work from/with engineering requests for components for new programs.
· Receive and interview vendor representatives to keep abreast of developments, negotiate prices, service, quality or other matters.
Requirements: · Bachelors Degree in Purchasing, Materials Management, Business Administration, or a related field of study. An Associate’s Degree along with diversified procurement and negotiation experience will also be acceptable. · 2 years automotive purchasing experience preferably at a Tier 1 supplier · Strong Negotiation Skills, Strong Procurement Skills · Excellent Demonstrated verbal/written communication abilities · Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Lotus Notes) · Excellent interpersonal skills Doing business with MRI of PersonCounty: Your application will be held in the strictest of confidence and will remain your property in our possession which will not be forwarded to our client without your prior approval.
