Job Description: We have an excellent opportunity for a Production Supervisor - (2nd Shift) for our client in the automotive industry at their composites facility (molding department) commutable to Charlotte, Hickory and Statesville, NC.

This position requires an Associates Degree in Business Administration or Industrial / Manufacturing related field of study.  Eight (8) years work related experience & a high school diploma may be substituted in lieu of degree.   The ideal candidate must have at least 3 to 5 years Production Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the automotive industry). Candidates must also possess very strong analytical & problem solving skills.  Successful candidates should also possess effective communication skills, good organizational skills, and good computer skills

 

Education:   Associates degree desired in Business Administration or Industrial/Manufacturing related field of study.

 

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures that the production operators safely manufacture quality parts, according to work instructions, and completing the appropriate amounts required for their shift
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
  • Ensures that employees have all the required tools they need to do their job correctly and efficiently
  • Troubleshoot and determine corrective action for machinery when necessary
  • Review & verify employee time cards using the EZ Labor timekeeping system
  • Ensure employees are at their work stations on time, are delegated the appropriate amount of work, take breaks and lunches on time, finish breaks and lunches on time, and are fully occupied during the shift
  • Ensure the housekeeping of the department is maintained throughout the shift
  • Manage production activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of employees to ensure product quality and delivery
  • Coordinate the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials and employees to meet Key Operational Indicators
  • Manage Overtime Equalization to ensure that it is fairly administrated
  • Train personnel as directed by the Operations / Department Manager in the implementation of the specified application methods and parameters in accordance to the control plans established
  • Report all accidents, injuries, and near misses immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Unit Manager

Requirements:

 

  • 3 – 5 years experience in a Production Supervisory role in a manufacturing environment (prefer automotive / plastics)
  • Associates degree preferred but will consider High School diploma + 8 years experience
  • Excellent leader, interpersonal skills, verbal and written skills, computer skills
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
